The Rock-n-Roll Circus is Back in Town.

Tim Menard and the Flying Nowakowski Brothers have been rocking the Chicagoland area since 2003. Yes, they're really brothers, and some say they've seen them fly. From local bars to nationally known clubs, college campuses to festivals, the Chicago Marathon to Wrigley Field, these guys have energized audiences with their unique sound and acrobatic musicianship.

Stylistically, their music has been compared to U2, Steve Earle, and REM.

Before their circus days, the band members performed in groups such as Ballads and Balderdash, CopperMinds, Crybaby, Brementown, Dogs Undecided, John Kimler, Fallen Angels, Lou Ryder Band, The Owls, Dreaming of Hands, and Thomas Pace.

Tim, Devin, Shawn, and Aaron have also logged many hours of studio time, recording for a vast array of artists. Most recently, they were involved in the creation of a
John Prine tribute album, produced at Strobe Recording in Chicago. The tune they contributed to the release was track 2, "Sam Stone."

So if you're looking for a band that can really rock the big tent, bring on Tim Menard and the Flying Nowakowski Brothers.

Tim Menard and the Flying Nowakowski Brothers are:

Tim Menard, Vocals, Guitar

Aaron Nowakowski, Drums/Percussion
Aaron comes from a family of musicians, so it was only natural that he picked up the one instrument that no one in the house had tried yet — the drums. He's been hooked ever since. Aaron has been playing in clubs throughout the Chicago land area for over 12 years. His musical style spans the gamut from rock, alternative, folk, blues, funk, and soul, to classical.

"I love playing out." admits Aaron. "It's all about having fun and connecting musically with the band."

Aaron's been filling the drum throne for Tim Menard since early 2003. His diverse style adds to Menard's vast musical range.

Devin Nowakowski, Vocals, Lead Guitar, etc.
Devin started playing in taverns and bars with his father at the age of 14. Since that time he has had the pleasure of playing with many local Chicago talents such as Ballads and Balderdash, CopperMinds, Brementown, Dogs Undecided, John Kimler, Fallen Angels and Thomas Pace. In addition to performing live, Devin has leant his talents to countless recording artists including the before mentioned Thomas Pace and Fallen Angels, Tim Menard, Rusk, Melissa Ziemer, and Tom Slater.

From local bars to nationally reknown clubs, from college campuses to regional fundraisers, from small town festivals to the Chicago Marathon, Devin has enjoyed the audiences of many different venues. While each venue brings its own unique rewards, one of his most memorable experiences was opening for Stacey Earle at Schuba's in Chicago.

Devin is not limited in his palette of sounds and colors that he can bring to the music. While having the ability to add lead or backing vocals, dobro, lap steel, banjo, piano, accordion, and electric bass, he feels his contributions are most significant when playing acoustic or electric guitar.

With almost 25 years of guitar playing across several genres of music, it is the one instrument that he feels at home with and will always come back to in the years to come.

Shawn Nowakowski, 7 String Electric Bass, 4 String Fretless Electric Bass, 4 String Acoustic Double Bass
Shawn has been performing publicly since 1989. He has spent most of his time filling the bass chair for local Chicago acts Ballads & Balderdash and CopperMinds, and has lent his bass skills to a number of other local talents such as Dogs Undecided, John Kimler, Tim Menard, and Fallen Angels.
